Technical Solutions Group (TSG) is seeking an experienced Cell Site Analyst / Expert Witness to join our team. We’re looking for someone driven and self-motivated to join our small, close-knit team – someone who can inspire both individual and group motivation as we continue to grow.
This role is central to delivering high-quality compliant forensic geolocation services, conducting cell site analysis and RF propagation surveys to evidential standards, and providing expert reporting and testimony in court.
We are looking for individuals with forensic expertise, experience in RF, cell site analysis, and the ability to communicate complex findings with clarity. You will lead your own casework, conduct RF surveys, produce detailed reports, and provide independent expert opinion in the criminal justice system. As a Cell Site Analysis Expert within TSG, your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering end-to-end cell site analysis, including CDR preparation, normalisation, and forensic interpretation and opinion.
Conducting Radio Frequency Propagation Surveys (RFPS) using professional survey tools and techniques.
Producing high-quality forensic reports that explain technical findings in clear, evidential language.
Presenting complex evidence in court as an expert witness.
Supporting validation of equipment and methods to FSR Code of Practice and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
Contributing to continuous improvement of the services we provide.
Help promote the growth of the company.
Supporting training services and mentoring of colleagues where required.
This is not an entry-level role. To be considered you must have:
Proven experience delivering cell site analysis & reporting.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and Wi-Fi networks.
Experience conducting RF propagation surveys
Experience giving expert evidence opinion in criminal courts.
Strong communication and report writing skills.
Understanding of disclosure obligations and Criminal Procedure Rules.
Strong knowledge of FSR Code of Practice requirements and quality-driven working practices.
Full UK driving licence.
To succeed, you will need a strong grounding in:
Cellular network fundamentals and propagation theory.
Forensic strategy, RF survey planning, collection, and CDR analysis and interpretation techniques.
Interpretation of large datasets and mapping outputs.
Clear communication of technical findings to non-technical audiences.
A forensic mindset: accuracy, attention to detail, and impartiality.
A self-motivated individual who works well in a team, with the initiative and drive to be able to contribute to business development in this area.
Wider digital forensic experience with mobile devices.
Digital Media Investigator, OSINT or online investigation skills.
Accredited investigator status (PIP).
Experience delivering training or mentoring.
Ability to assist in development of software (GIS) tools or RF equipment.
Must have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years.
Eligible for NPPV-3 and SC security clearance.
Willingness to travel for RF surveys and court appearances (UK-wide).
